Notarial Officers

Banner

Legal documents often require the signature and seal of a "notarial officer." The first stop for any question about notarial officers should be the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s website. This website has individual pages on notarial officers and notarial acts as well as a comprehensive manual on the qualifications and duties of notarial officers in New Hampshire.

"An apostille record means a vital record document which contains the certification as provided for in the 1961 Hague Convention and which is recognized in the United States and other certifying countries as a certified document." RSA 5-C:99

The Notary Public and Justice of the Peace Manual is available on-line or by contacting the Secretary of State's Office at 603-271-3242.
